Atlantic City has a unique history of glitz & glamour, wealth, and celebrity — bringing together ambitious, adventurous, curious people from all over the world since its earliest days. From Diana Ross to Bruce Springsteen to jazz legends like Smith & James, this icon of the Jersey Shore has been the backdrop of cultural moments on the Boardwalk for over a century.
While some modern travelers see Atlantic City and the Boardwalk as a dated throwback destination, we saw a wide horizon of opportunity to create a high-touch, thoughtful hospitality experience at the edge of the ocean. The Seahaus Hotel is the first boutique property and non-casino hotel development on the Boardwalk in over a decade – providing guests with the seaside escape, soaked in nostalgia, that they’re seeking.
Inspired by Jonathan Pitney, a prominent physician and entrepreneur, and his original vision for Atlantic City in the mid-1800s as a restorative and immersive escape for guests in the surrounding metropolitans, our brand taps into the healing powers of sunshine, fresh air, and the ocean’s saltwater. Pairing this vision of restoration with the current revitalization of Atlantic City, The Seahaus Hotel is a new beacon on the Boardwalk.
To build the brand, we fully immersed ourselves in the nostalgia of the Boardwalk. From a spin around the ferris wheel to hot dogs and funnel cakes, to farmers markets, fine dining, and local coffee shops, we set out to understand the guest experience from end to end. Our name was born out of the idea that people come to Atlantic City not to escape, but to find a place that feels equal parts exciting and elevated. And our visual identity continues that story — drawing on the line that connects sand to sea, horizon to sky, and people to experiences.
“It is, after all, the dab of grit that seeps into the oyster’s shell that makes the pearl.” – Stephen King
The Seahaus Hotel, a Marriott Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is currently in development and projected to open in February 2025.
