Grizzly 2019 Year in Review

Read time: 5 mins

2019 was a tremendous year of growth at Grizzly. We experienced client growth with a new partnership with Fortune 500 company Sempra Energy, AOR relationships with Pinnacle Brand Group and Biocom, and transformative projects with Hilton, TuSimple, Slalom, Carrington, Corza Health, and more. We saw team growth in strategic roles and continued to build a culture of fearless creativity. We collaborated to deliver brave ideas and built experiences to create belonging between our clients and their customers. We’re incredibly grateful for our clients, team members, and partners, and proud of what we created together as we venture into a new year.

As we move into 2020, we’re filled with optimism about what’s possible on the journey ahead. We have some exciting things planned as we invest in Grizzly’s brand and in our community, and will be developing new service offerings to create even more value for our clients and grow the agency as we adapt to the changing industry landscape. Our vision has always been to build a modern creative agency that enables Adventurous Brands to navigate change, culture, and commerce. We feel like we’re closer than ever to that vision, but we’re just getting started.

2019 Work Highlights

We worked on strategy, identity, experience, and communication projects with brands across a wide variety of industries. From hospitality to life science, and technology to fashion, we collaborated with our clients to produce some incredible work. Thank you to all of our in-house partners and clients who trust our team, support brave ideas, and invest in building Adventurous Brands.

In our third year of partnership with Qualcomm, we continued to work with their IPAG team to tell their story of innovation and the journey to 5G. We traveled with Qualcomm to Europe, NYC, and Washington, D.C., interviewing global IP experts and lawmakers on the importance of intellectual property rights in the innovation continuum. We look forward to continuing our work with Qualcomm next year and being a part of their celebration of the Invention Age.

Continuing a half-decade of collaboration, Grizzly and Nutanix launched the next chapter of their digital experience, developed a new design language for their brand, including a full suite of product logos, and we told the story of what happens when enterprise IT comes together on a single platform. With the launch of the global brand campaign, All Together Now, Grizzly and Nutanix brought technology to life with color and personality. The campaign launched in October, and has already out-performed every prior campaign effort, seeing double-digit increases in engagement, traffic, and MQLs.

Corza Health is a new venture capital company building transformational healthcare and life science companies in partnership with global leader, GTCR. Led by veteran executives, Greg Lucier (Life Technologies, NuVasive) and Brian Berning (Greatcall), Corza health needed an identity system that would serve as a foundation for growth and a way to express their story. They partnered with our team to bring their brand to life and we continue to collaborate on new initiatives as they seek companies for their portfolio.

Carrington is one of the world’s largest and most trusted real estate companies. They came to us with a compelling question. What does a new day in homeownership look like? The result is Vylla. Grizzly worked closely with Carrington leadership to develop a brand strategy and visual identity that brought their vision of a new home buying process to life. We extended the identity to collateral, social, and retail environments that were launched around the country. Our partnership culminated in a national brand launch campaign, This Is A Vylla.

Kendal Floral

After working with our partners, Kendal Floral, last year to design a new platform for their D2C brand, Benchmark Bouquets, Grizzly collaborated with Kendal leadership in 2019 to design a new identity for the parent company. Working closely with Kendal’s executive team, we developed a new brand positioning and visual identity that sets Kendal Floral apart from the competition.

Hospitality Work

This year was full of impactful hospitality work. We strengthened our collaboration with Marriott on Tribute Portfolio properties with the launch of The Guild Hotel to critical acclaim and the development of a new property in Salt Lake City, The Grid. We branded The Ava Hotel in Paso Robles for Hilton’s Curio Collection, and continued to work closely with several local hospitality groups on projects in San Diego. We’re passionate about travel, and love seeing our work come to life in physical spaces, shaping guest experiences, and creating lasting memories. One couple got engaged at our project, The Monarch Club, in Detroit! Here’s to creating many more memories in 2020.
